My “Hypothesis Graveyard” 🙂
17th Century Atlantic Seaboard limestone smuggling hypothesis: There was an error in part of the geology. That’s neat. It means more discovery – from this narrowing the physical search area from ~1200 km2, down to 138 km2, and thence down to 4.5 km2. A historian out there told me he knows about 3 disused limestone quarries, but I didn’t want the locations so as to not taint the primary research. Turns out one of the areas of interest after English occupation had by the 19th C one of the known limestone quarries.
